Our History
Nkinga Institute of Health Sciences is located in Igunga District, Tabora Region, Tanzania. The institution was established to address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in the western regions of Tanzania.
Since its founding, the institute has grown from a small nursing training centre into a comprehensive health sciences institution offering multiple diploma programmes. The institute is affiliated with Nkinga Hospital, which serves as the primary clinical training site for students.
Key Milestones
- Establishment – Founded as a nursing school to train local healthcare workers.
- Expansion – Added programmes in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Clinical Medicine.
- Accreditation – Received full accreditation from the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
